(DDQ) Don't Dare QUIT! Do It...AGAIN!

Hey GEM Friend!

It's time for a "big people" conversation.

How adaptable are you with NEW challenges? NEW Opportunities? NEW Approaches?

If you're like me---after one or two attempts of learning NEW technology, a NEW language or anything outside of my comfort zone...I can become frustrated and think to QUIT the entire activity!

Studies from The Personal MBA state it takes 10,000 hours to become an "expert in an ultra-competitive field" but to go from "knowing nothing to being pretty good", actually takes 20 hours!

Don't get frustrated...Don't Quit...simply DO IT AGAIN!!!

"14 When Elisha was in his last illness, King Jehoash of Israel visited him and wept over him. “My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Israel!” he cried.

15 Elisha told him, “Get a bow and some arrows.” And the king did as he was told. 16 Elisha told him, “Put your hand on the bow,” and Elisha laid his own hands on the king’s hands.

17 Then he commanded, “Open that eastern window,” and he opened it. Then he said, “Shoot!” So he shot an arrow. Elisha proclaimed, “This is the Lord’s arrow, an arrow of victory over Aram, for you will completely conquer the Arameans at Aphek.”

18 Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times. 19 But the man of God was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times!” he exclaimed. “Then you would have beaten Aram until it was entirely destroyed. Now you will be victorious only three times. 2 Kings 3: 14-19

The Word of The Lord declared a decisive VICTORY for King  Jehoash. Joash struck with the arrows against the floor three times, and then paused, thinking he had done enough. He did not enter into the spirit of the symbolical act, which represented the smiting and slaying of enemies.

How often have you PAUSED thinking it was "enough"?

The message is clear to NOT QUIT...keep striking your ground for your VICTORY!

Yes, it only take 20 hours to learn the NEW skill set---can you be persistent enough to invest 20 hours into achieving a breakthrough?

Are you willing to pick up ANOTHER arrow?

Perhaps your unexpected delight will advance you towards the skillset EXPERT level of 10,000 hours invested.

Don't Quit...simply...DO IT AGAIN!
