The Power "P" of...POTENTIAL!
The final days of Summer can yield irregular weather patterns from sunny calm beach walks to storm raging waves along the shore.
The ocean speaks volumes to me while on vacation. I find early morning walks to be a time of quiet reflection, the mental release of the prior day, and emotional rejuvenation for the upcoming day.
Unlike prior mornings, today's walk encountered high tides and blustery winds from an oncoming storm
Today, the waves dipped and dived with the impending currents of Hurricane Dorian. The night before the sea was calm with soft glassy sheen and today she displayed her POTENTIAL!
What is your potential?
It’s definitions include:
1/ possible but not yet achieved:
Someone’s potential is an ability the person has not yet developed.
2/ possible when the necessary conditions exist:
A number of potential buyers have expressed interest in the company.
3/ someone's or something's ability to develop, achieve, or succeed:
I don't feel I'm achieving my full potential in my present job.
As I walked and pondered the grey-blue horizon, I realize the SAME raging power exists within the sea while it appeared calm, yet when the necessary conditions arose---the seas' POTENTIAL arose also!
- What is the God-inspired passion, dream, or desire is lying dormant within you?
- What new conditions need to arise for your hidden POTENTIAL to break forth?
The raging waves are the dream that continues to speak to your heart despite your daily grind, despite your weekly routine, and it keeps calling you to come off the shoreline…and step into the deep!
As I continued walking, I met several new "friends" such as Tina who also enjoy the sounds of the raging seas and watching the surfers brace for the next curling wave.
My new friend Tina from Rhode Island shares how the roaring waves and wind invigorate her. I feel the same way too as we chatted and watched the waves dance and pound along the shore.

As I walked back to the house, I thought Lord, help me not be afraid of any POTENTIAL that YOU’VE deposited within me. Help me embrace the CHANGES You want to bring into my life for Your purposes.
Lord, help me cooperate as YOU desire to display YOUR power, majesty, and grace through the POTENTIAL you’ve foreordained within me!
May we each become willing vessels to show forth The Master’s glory!
